学生 taking 1140 should feel confident calculating with all real numbers, manipulating algebra expressions (including exponential expressions), solving linear equations and using equations to solve some word problems.

学生 in 1140 will learn to manipulate polynomials (including factoring), fractions containing polynomials, radical expressions and functions. They will also learn to solve polynomial, rational, radical and systems of equations, and use those equations to solve word problems. 学生 will also learn to graph equations & inequalities.

学生 taking 1150 should feel confident manipulating polynomials (including factoring), rationals, radicals, and graphs; as well as solving linear and quadratic equations & inequalilies.

学生 in 1150 will learn to manipulate and graph polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic functions. They will also solve equations related to those functions, and solve systems of equations and inequalities. 学生 will learn to graph basic functions and their transformations as well as function operations and composition.
